Like any other bacteria, candida yeast is found in human bodies. In fact, we have these bacteria in our body, all throughout our life. It is normal, and very common. However, when in large numbers, this can pose a problem. Its overgrowth can develop into infections found at various parts of a body. Due to weak immune system, Candida infection can increase leading to oral thrush or other types of yeast infection.
Candida is normally found in the mouth, digestive tract, and skin. Unhealthy habits, stress, toxic overload or intake of antibiotics causes the imbalance of microorganisms therefore leading to infections like Candida that affect the mouth, digestive system and skin in moist body parts. Thrush, a kind of Candida infection, should be dealt with immediately as it can build up very quickly and can become relentless in its rapid growth. It can spreads easily to the lungs, liver, and skin of patients with weak defense system.
Indication of Thrush
Creamy white, and somewhat raised cuts in your mouth, normally found on tongue or inner cheeks, are one symptom of thrush. It has a cottage cheese appearance and causes discomfort when brushing teeth. Symptoms of thrush found in adults are different from that of infants’. Thrush symptoms in adults include cottage cheese-like patches in the mouth that produce bleeding while infants may not experience any symptoms at all.
On its own, thrush is not hazardous, however if indications of thrush is ignored and not attended to immediately, its condition may worsen. There’s a strong association between diet and the strength of one’s immune system. Hence, it is always recommended that the holistic approach is used in dealing with thrush since it works well with natural remedies.
The appearance of thrush can sometimes happen very quickly and on other days they come unexpectedly. However, symptoms are always indications that there is an infection going on and if left untreated may become worse and infect other parts of the body. If females experience vaginal yeast infections and show symptoms such as itching, redness and discharge during a Candida infection, male yeast infection or oral thrush in men show its symptoms outside and inside the mouth in the form of lesions.
Oral thrush lesions inside the mouths may seem to be ordinary but if left without treatments the yeast infection can infect the tongue, the gums, the esophagus then the stomach area down to the intestines. Our intestines also have Candida yeasts in them because this fungus also helps in the digestion of our food and in the metabolism of the nutrients. But once infected Candida from the mouth area are introduced into the intestines then there will be an overblown number of Candida inside the intestines itself. A hole in the gut or what medical experts call “leaky gut” can occur if the condition becomes severe and this can become the source of toxins for the blood and other organs of the body.
So although oral thrush may seem to be harmless, you must get rid of it as soon as symptoms appear. Do not rely too much on do-it-yourself cures, remedies and prevention if you think the infection has already spread down to your esophagus. You will know that infection is already there when you have pain and difficulties in swallowing and the food you eat seems to stick in the middle of your chest area. If you experience this, your doctor must make a quick diagnosis so that he could give you some drug medications to stop the intestinal yeast infection. You must also take extra care not to contract thrush if your immune system is low because your lungs and other internal organs can be easily infected.
